Project Purple is delighted to announce the completion of the new Bike Station at the Village Hall car park. This facility is now open and ready for use by both residents and visitors.
An electric bike charger is installed with cables for Bosch and Shimano batteries as well as plug sockets for other chargers and mobility scooters.
The Bike Station includes a bike maintenance stand with repair tools and a bicycle pump. The unit will be maintained by Project Purple volunteers with free electricity for charging paid for from Project Purple donations.
This public amenity project aims to enhance connectivity between our villages and towns. By promoting active travel, it supports the health and well-being of both residents and visitors while also helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
We hope that this station will be one of many that will provide support for active travel to North York Moors Cycle network and the Market Town Circular Path, Paths4Everyone between Norton, Malton, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering.
Project Purple thanks all those organisations and businesses that have supported this project.
